Help Save Hyde United
(Mon, 28 Sep 2009 - OSC News)

badgeblack.jpg
You may have heard in the local media that Hyde United, who play in the Conference North, were wound up in the High Court on Wednesday due to an unpaid tax bill to HMRC. I am sure that many of you will have visited Ewen Fields, the home of Hyde United, to watch City reserve and youth team fixtures over the years and hopefully will have been made to feel very welcome. This season City have very kindly sponsored the 1st team shirts with the CITC logo, after our original sponsors pulled out. Amongst our 1st team squad this year is Nathan D’Laryea who was formerly on City’s books.
A significant chunk of the debt had been paid off prior to the hearing and the club had applied for a final adjournment. Evidence was also produced that funds to satisfy the petition debt due to HMRC in full would be in place in the very near future. Unfortunately the judge felt that this was insufficient. I should point out that the club had not gone down the administration route as they are committed to paying the debt off in full rather than just a small percentage.
The club had to postpone Saturday's FA Cup tie v Salford City and are hoping to get the order rescinded at the High Court next week. Prior to the hearing the club needs to raise between £35,000 to £45,000 and on Saturday through various fund raising activities in the town nearly £10,000 was donated. Funds are still coming in from a wide variety of places but we need more and we need it quickly.
Negotiations are ongoing with City to allow players and supporters from Hyde United to carry out a bucket collection inside the concourses at the West Ham game on Monday night. So if this does go ahead here’s where my fellow blues you can help.
If you can spare a few coins or even the odd note on Monday night it would be gratefully appreciated and could help save a proud local club from extinction. There are rumours that FC United have already been sniffing around to use Ewen Fields should the club not be saved and I’m sure none of you would want them to benefit in any way from this situation.
I know that some of you will follow other non-league clubs and might not be too sad to see the demise of Hyde United. Others may have no interest at all in the situation. If you have no wish to donate that’s entirely your choice.
If you are not going to the game then perhaps you could make a donation by bank transfer. Because of the legal situation payment has to be made to the Supporters' Club building society account detailed below :
Sort code: 09-00-00
Account No. 00050005
Ref. No. E43303696BBG
Cheques need to be made payable to Hyde United Supporters' Club.
Please pass this on to any family or friends who may be able to give to this cause.
Full details of the club’s plight can be read on both the Hyde United website and the fans forum.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully for your donations.

MCFCOSC.COM Advertising enquiries
(Thu, 31 Jul 2008 - OSC News)
Since this site has gone live we've had a lot of requests from members and non-members wanting to advertise their company on the OSC site. We didn't want to rush into anything but have been advised to go ahead, largely because of the 280,000 plus unique visits we had to the site over our first year!
So if you want to bring your company to the attention of the many blue guests who regularly use this site, please contact Kevin Parker at kbmp2000@aol.com. Kevin will be happy to discuss rates and talk through the options available.
